Marrakech to Ouzoud Welcome to Marrakech, the vibrant city in Morocco known for its lively souks, delicious food and stunning architecture. Today we take a trip to Ouzoud, a small town in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. We begin our journey aboard a comfortable vehicle that takes us on a scenic drive through the Moroccan countryside. As we leave Marrakech behind, we’ll pass through small villages and see traditional Berber homes that dot the landscape.
Our knowledgeable driver will point out interesting sights along the way and answer any questions we may have. After a few hours of driving, we’ll reach the town of Ouzoud, where the main attraction is the Ouzoud waterfalls. These breathtaking cascades are one of Morocco’s most impressive natural wonders and provide the perfect backdrop for a day of adventure and relaxation.we’ll spend some time exploring the falls, enjoying the spectacular views and listening to the soothing sound of rushing water. There are several hiking trails in the area, so we can choose a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike depending on our preference.
If we’re feeling adventurous, we can take a dip in the refreshing water or even go kayaking on the nearby river. For those who prefer to take it easy, there are many cafes and restaurants in the area where we can relax and enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine.
After breakfast, leave Ouzoud and head to Ait Benhaddou, a World Heritage Site UNESCO. Ait Benhaddou is an ancient fortified village that has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the village’s narrow streets and climb the fortress walls for breathtaking views of the surrounding desert landscape.
Your next destination is Skoura, a small oasis town in the Draa Valley. Here you’ll visit Kasbah Amridil, one of the best preserved kasbahs in Morocco. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the palm groves of Skoura and visit some Berber villages to learn about their unique way of life. Then you’ll continue your journey towards Boumalne Dades, stopping along the way to visit the Dades Gorge.
The gorge is a narrow, winding canyon known for its spectacular rock formations and breathtaking scenery. You’ll have the opportunity to hike through the canyon and explore some of the small Berber villages that dot the landscape. Your tour ends in Boumalne Dades, a small town in the Dades Valley. Here you’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the local souks and markets to buy souvenirs and taste traditional Moroccan dishes. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a leisurely walk through the beautiful Dades Valley and enjoy the breathtaking nature
On the second day of your 5 days tour in Morocco. We will start with a breakfast at your hotel. We will depart from Dades valley and continue our tour towards the Sahara desert. En route, we will pass through the stunning high gorges and enjoy a panoramic view of Morocco’s largest valley of palm trees. At noon, we will take a break and have lunch at a local restaurant.
As we travel through the palm-adorned route, we will eventually reach the vast Merzouga Sahara desert, where we will spend two nights. On the first night, we will stay in a comfortable hotel on the dune edges, offering a breathtaking view. The hotel is nestled amidst soft sand dunes, providing an opportunity for guests to explore the surroundings barefoot. The following day will be eventful, so it’s recommended to take some rest.
The 3d day of the 5 days vacation in Morocco will start with a breakfast at the hotel, then you’ll embark on a 4X4 car safari to uncover the secrets and hidden treasures of the Sahara desert. Traverse the massive dunes on the RALLY DAKAR road to get your adrenaline pumping before stopping to visit a nomadic family and partake in some tea. From there, you’ll make your way to KHAMLIYA village, a small village near Merzouga center that is predominantly inhabited by black-skinned people who were brought over as slaves during the time of slavery.
This village is also considered the birthplace and foundation of Gnaoua music, which you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy. Afterward, you’ll visit the seasonal lake of Srij, situated on the outskirts of the golden dunes of Merzouga and serving as a stopover for birds migrating from Europe to South Africa. For lunch, you’ll head to a local restaurant to try Berber Pizza before having some free time. Before sunset, you’ll be taken to a camel park to begin your camel ride to the oasis camp located in the heart of the desert.
On the way, you’ll stop amidst the towering dunes to watch the sunset before continuing on to the camp. Here, you’ll experience an authentic nomadic night and indulge in freshly prepared local cuisine. After dinner, you can dance, sing, and tell riddles with the nomads under the twinkling stars. (Includes dinner and breakfast.)
On the last day of your 4-day Morocco experience tour. Day we wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise, take some photos and have breakfast before returning to the hotel. Then our journey begins, taking us from the vast Sahara desert to the valleys, forests and high mountains of the Atlas Mountains with snow.
We’ll visit the Ziz valley, Ait Sheker, Tizi Ntlghamt, the city of Midlet (the capital of the apple), the jungle of cedars and stop to observe and photograph monkeys. Then we’ll visit Ifrane, the Switzerland of Africa, a small town in the Atlas Mountains surrounded by vast forests, where we’ll visit the lion statue and learn about its history. Finally, we reach our destination, the imperial city of Fez, where our 4-day tour from Marrakech through the Sahara desert comes to an end.
