Itinerary

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your accommodation or from the airport in Ouarzazate and start with a city tour of Ouarzazate. Our first stop is the Atlas Studio, where many famous movies were filmed.

We will then visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, an ancient structure with a tangled history. Afterwards, we will continue southeast to Skoura, where we will visit the Kasbah of Amridil, surrounded by green palm groves.

We then continue to the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. Here the locals present their rose products, ranging from perfume and rose water to oils and cosmetics.

Driving through the Dades Valley, we stop at a viewpoint to admire the breathtaking view of the Dades Gorges. We continue our journey and reach the Todra Gorge, where the Todra River has carved a large gorge through the mountains, impressive for its red rock walls.

After some free time to admire the breathtaking scenery, we will have a lunch break.

In the afternoon we will reach the Sahara Desert Merzouga, where you will exchange your vehicle for camels and cross the sandy terrain. We will take a break so you can see the enchanting sunset on a high dune.

Then it’s on to the luxurious desert camp, where you can listen to the rhythms of Berber drums and dance around the campfire under the magnificent starry sky.

Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night at the camp. If the above itinerary does not meet your needs, do not hesitate to contact us so that we can offer you a customized travel experience.

After breakfast, you will embark on an exhilarating 4X4 car safari to uncover the hidden treasures of the Sahara desert tour.

As you navigate through the massive dunes, you will drive on the RALLY DAKAR route to get your adrenaline pumping. You will then have the opportunity to visit and enjoy tea with a nomad family before continuing on to KHAMLIYA village.

This small village near the Merzouga center is mainly inhabited by black-skinned people who were brought as slaves during the slavery era and is also considered the birthplace of Gnaoua music.

Here, you can enjoy the Gnaoua music before heading to the seasonal lake of Srij, located on the edges of the golden dunes of Merzouga, which serves as a stopover for birds migrating from Europe to South Africa.

After having lunch in one of the local restaurants and trying Berber Pizza, you will have some free time. Before sunset, you will be taken to a camel park to begin your camel ride to the oasis camp in the middle of the desert.

During your caravan journey, you will stop in the heart of the big dunes to watch the sunset before reaching the campsite. The campsite is fully equipped with all the amenities you need, and they serve delicious freshly made local food.

At night, after dinner, you will dance, sing, and tell riddles with the nomads under the starry sky. (Dinner and breakfast included.)

During the final day of your “Morocco 3-day desert to Fes tour,” you will rise early to witness the stunning sunrise amidst the desert’s beauty. After breakfast, you will ride camels back to Merzouga to meet your driver for the trip’s final leg.

Our first stop will be Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet, which remains an important trading center with a bustling souk every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

You’ll have time to wander through the lively souk before we move on to Erfoud capital of fossil and marble, where you can explore one of the fossilized marble workshops.

As we drive along the Ziz river, we’ll pause to take in the breathtaking view of the Ziz valley. We’ll stop in Midelt for lunch before continuing on to the cedar forest, where the Barbary Macaques reside.

You can feed them as you explore the forest. Our next destination is Ifrane, known for its cold weather, snow, and alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Finally, we’ll drop you off at your Fes accommodation or the airport, concluding the tour.
