Once in Essaouira, take a leisurely stroll along the fishing port and catch a glimpse of the famous blue fishing boats. Embark on an art expedition through the medina and discover the beauty of Essaouira’s scattered art galleries.
Explore the medina at your own pace and stroll the cannon-adorned ramparts by the sea. Treat yourself to a delicious seafood lunch at one of the harbor stalls or a local restaurant. Our tour ends with the return trip to Marrakech.

Itinerary
Embark on an exciting day trip from marrakech to Essaouira, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Marrakech to Essaouira, we’ll cross the Haouz plain and stop in the village of Chichaoua for coffee before continuing to Sidi Mokhtar.
Our drive will take us through a stunning argan tree forest, where you may even catch a glimpse of goats perched on the trees. Pause for a few photos before we continue our drive towards Essaouira.
Once in Essaouira, our first stop is the port and fishing harbor, where you can admire the old Portuguese fortifications and medieval cannons strung across the Atlantic. Then we go to the Medina, the old town, with its well-preserved fortifications from the 18th century.
La Scala, one of the most important landmarks of the medina, was built to defend against foreign attacks from the sea. We also visit Bab Laalouj, one of the main gates of Essaouira, and the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter.
The route is lined with a variety of art stores, galleries, souvenir stores and stores selling Thuya wood art. You can enjoy a delicious seafood lunch in the local cafes.
After lunch, you can visit a kasbah that served as a military bastion. If you’re a beach lover, you can walk on the sandy beach of Mogador, sunbathe while watching gargoyles and kite or windsurf fans. To end the day, we’ll return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
